mAInthink CEO Sascha Rissel Appointed to the Hessen Regional Board of the German AI Association
Our CEO, Sascha Rissel, has been a member of the Hessen Regional Board of the German AI Association since early September 2026. In this new role, he brings his entrepreneurial experience and his perspective on decision intelligence, mathematical optimization, and the practical application of AI in businesses to one of Germany’s leading AI networks.
The German AI Association connects AI and deep tech companies with established business, research, and political circles. The Hessen regional group focuses in particular on connecting AI companies, industry, academia, and other stakeholders in the AI ecosystem in Frankfurt, the Rhine-Main region, and beyond.
Since early September, Sascha Rissel, Founder & CEO of mAInthink GmbH, has also been a member of the Hessen Regional Board.
From Artificial Intelligence to Decision Intelligence
For Rissel, one question is particularly central: How can companies use the technological capabilities of AI not only for automation and data analysis, but also to derive measurably better decisions?
This is precisely where mAInthink comes in.
With StratePlan, the company is developing a decision intelligence technology for complex investment, CAPEX, and portfolio decisions. Instead of merely evaluating individual projects or comparing predefined scenarios, StratePlan analyzes the combinatorial decision space and calculates optimal portfolio decisions under real-world budget, resource, return, and dependency constraints.
The goal is not to replace human responsibility with technology.
Human Intelligence + Decision Intelligence.
Mathematics calculates possible courses of action and their implications. Humans evaluate and decide.
MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE: CAPEX Live Boardroom Simulation
A key focus of mAInthink is on integrating Decision Intelligence directly into the corporate decision-making process.
With the CAPEX Live Boardroom Simulation, board members, executive management, and CFOs can adjust key parameters during a meeting and recalculate the impact on the entire investment portfolio within seconds.
What happens if the CAPEX budget is reduced? What are the effects of a higher return target? Which projects should be prioritized, postponed, or recombined given changes in resources?
Instead of sending new questions back to Finance, Controlling, or Risk for calculation after an executive board meeting, different courses of action can be simulated and compared directly during the meeting.
Question. Calculate. Compare. Decide. – all in the same meeting.
Decision Intelligence 4 All
Another key focus of mAInthink is the democratization of mathematical decision intelligence.
Under the guiding principle “Decision Intelligence 4 All,” this technology should not be available exclusively to large corporations with their own data science teams, complex IT projects, and substantial consulting budgets.
Through StratePlan’s Online Decision Service, small and medium-sized enterprises can also use mathematical optimization for their own project, investment, and portfolio decisions.
This transforms a highly complex technology into a practical tool for business decision-making.
Hessen as a Hub for Applied AI and DeepTech
With Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region, Hessen boasts a unique blend of industry, finance, small and medium-sized enterprises, research, startups, and internationally active companies.
For Sascha Rissel, serving on the Regional Board offers the opportunity to strengthen, in particular, the exchange between technology companies and those businesses where AI and decision intelligence can generate concrete economic benefits.
“Artificial intelligence does not realize its economic value simply because companies analyze more data or automate processes. What matters is whether the technology ultimately leads to better decisions. It is precisely at this intersection of data, mathematics, and corporate responsibility that I see enormous potential. I look forward to bringing this perspective to the Hessen Regional Board.”

Strengthening the AI Ecosystem in Hessen Together
This appointment to the Regional Board also underscores mAInthink’s commitment to fostering dialogue among DeepTech companies, established businesses, academia, and other stakeholders in the AI ecosystem.
The goal is to more closely link technological innovation with concrete economic applications and to facilitate companies’ access to new forms of data-driven and mathematically grounded decision support.
For mAInthink, participation on the Regional Board is therefore more than just a networking opportunity:
It’s about using artificial intelligence to make better decisions—and turning better decisions into measurable performance.
